Seasoned Spread

Love bagels? Try mixing 1 ½ teaspoons of any of our Pain Acadien seasoning packs into a 8 oz. package of softened cream cheese and spread on a toasted bagel or slice of French bread. For variation, add minced radishes, peppers, carrots, or any other vegetable you love for crunch, mix into your seasoned cream cheese and enjoy!

 

Bread Dipping Oil

Need to spiff up your pasta dinner? Mix 1 teaspoon of our Italian seasoning with 3 tablespoons of olive oil and stir or shake briskly. Pour into a shallow dish and dip your French bread in for added flavor.

 

Meat Rubs

It’s grilling season! Use any seasoning packet by Pain Acadien, mix with a little olive oil to make a thin paste, and then rub onto poultry, turkey, or beef.  Grill or roast in your oven as you normally would. My personal favorite for poultry is our “Farm-style Dip mix”.

 

Fried Chicken or Fish

Add any of our seasonings to your deep-fry batter and follow batter directions for cooking times.

 

Baked Potatoes

Who doesn’t love a baked potato? Wash and cut your potatoes in half length-wise. Rub the halves with olive oil and set aside.  Heavily butter a cookie sheet and spread “Farm-style” seasoning packet onto the butter.  Lay your potatoes, cut side down onto the seasoned butter.  Bake for 45-60 minutes or until cooked through at 375 degrees.

 

Roasted Garlic and Herb Veggies

Veggies make a great side dish or a topping for your green salad! Cube root veggies such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squash, rutabaga, kohlrabi, etc. into 1 inch cubes. Place into a large bowl and add ¼ cup of olive oil and 1 ½ teaspoons of our “Garlic and Herb” seasoning. Toss with the veggies until thoroughly coated.  Empty the bowl contents onto a large cookie sheet and bake in your oven at 425 degrees for 35- 45 minutes or until cooked through. Remember to turn veggies over half-way through baking time to avoid burning.

 

“Sauce de Tomate Frais” ~Fresh Tomato Sauce

Have a garden full of tomatoes? Chop 4 medium fresh tomatoes into cubes. Add 1 or 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning, ¼ cup of olive oil, 1/8 cup white vinegar, and 1 teaspoon honey.  Mix all ingredients together and let this marinade for 15 min. while pasta cooks.  This is a perfect cold summer sauce for your favorite pasta. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

 

Fiesta Chicken

Want to spice up your chicken? Crush savory crackers (enough to coat the amount of chicken to be baked) into a large gallon-sized plastic bag.  For 1.5 cups of crushed crackers add 1.5 teaspoons of “Fiesta Seasoning”.  Toss your raw chicken into the bag with the seasoned crackers, seal the bag, and shake until meat is thoroughly coated.  Lay chicken onto a sheet pan and bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes or until the chicken has a golden crunch and meat is cooked through at 165 degrees.

 

Morning Eggs

Sprinkle some of our seasoning mix into the melted butter before you drop your eggs into the fry pan. The flavor fries right in!
